Pursuit Performance and Polar Warranty on eBay purchases.

Polar Warranty is a bit tricky. Pursuit Performance are the only official Australian importers of Polar Heart Rate Monitors and to get a warranty that they will honour you MUST buy from an authorised dealer appointed by Pursuit Performance. Pursuit Performance insist that their authorised dealers must not discount their HRMs, or sell them for less than the RRP on eBay.

So you have to pay full RRP price (or close) to get a warranty.

You need to double (or triple) check the other resellers on eBay - some say you get an international warranty card (you get one from us too - but it is worthless unless you have a receipt from an authorised Polar dealer). Unless other Polar sellers are registered for GST they cannot issue you with a tax invoice - and without an invoice you have no chance of any future warranty claim.

WE STRONGLY SUGGEST YOU CONTACT ANY EBAY POLAR RESELLER AND ASCERTAIN THEIR EXACT WARRANTY STATUS PRIOR TO PURCHASING. PURSUIT PERFORMANCE STATE THAT NO POLARS PURCHASED FROM EBAY ARE COVERED BY THEIR AUSTRALIAN WARRANTY.

Pursuit Performance will repair all Polars - but they obviously charge (fair enough) if it is out of warranty.

Our Polars are purchased from a genuine Polar authorised dealer who doesn't believe in price-fixing, but because they are sold to me at a discounted price, there is no warranty available. We guarantee our Polars are BRAND NEW, NOT REFURBISHED and EXACTLY THE SAME AS THOSE PURCHASED FROM AUTHORISED POLAR DEALERS - THEY JUST CHARGE A LOT MORE.

But bear in mind the savings - an s720i retails at $699 and I sell them at $430.00. And $269 buys a lot of repair work!

I offer a DOA (Dead On Arrival) warranty - we check all monitors before they ship out - but if the watch is dead when you get it for some reason then I will replace it immediately. And please note that Polar make great products - that is why they are number one.

My Polars are probably newer and fresher because I only buy a few at a time - they don't sit in stock for months with the batteries running down.

I have sold hundreds of Polars through eBay and have not had one genuine complaint or poor feedback about them - (see the P.S. below).

P.S. That one negative feedback on the 9th January (out of 750+ positives) was given, I believe (and I have evidence if anybody would like to see it), by a member of staff from Pursuit Performance who bought a Polar off me - they did the same thing to archwaterusa (see their feedback for the same day) - I consider that to be a pretty low act and I have reported the matter to eBay and the South Australian Office of Fair Trading.
